The 14th edition of International Early Music Courses, which will take place between the 31st August and the 5th September in the historic village of Idanha-a-Velha, Portugal, will feature the opening of mandolin (David Rodrigues) and organ (João Janeiro) classes. In addition to the usual masterclasses of recorder (João Francisco Távora), harpsichord and basso continuo (João Janeiro) and singing (Cristina Bayon Alvarez), there will also be a baroque orchestra internship led by baroque violinist Raquel Cravino. This year we are also offering two extra activities: Yoga for musicians coordinated by Elga Correia (Áshrama Covilhã) and astronomy sessions in partnership with APAA - Associação Portuguesa de Astrónomos Amadores. All of this under an incredible starry sky! As always, there will be special conditions for participants from creative cities, music conservatories and superior music universities in Portugal (see General Conditions - 2. Discounts).

2. DISCOUNTS

 

Depending on the chosen option, one of the following discounts may be selected on the application form:

- 100% BRING+4 discount. If 1 participant brings 4 more participants for options A and B his application is free of charge;
- 40% discount for participants of the YOU-BO Baroque Orchestra;
- 20% discount for repeated inscription;
- 10% discount for Beira Interior music conservatories, institutions and partners referred to in the CIMA poster;
- 10% discount for those who accompany option A participants.

 


3. IMPORTANT REMARKS
 

  • 1) Instrument masterclasses will function with a minimum of 4 participants.
  • 2) All participants are invited to participate in CIMA'a final project - Orchestra and Choir - as well as dance and improvisation workshops.
  • 3) All participants must bring a music stand and concert clothes.
  • 4) A3=392HZ, 415HZ e 440HZ accepted.


4. ACCOMODATION, MEALS AND TRANSPORT
 

  • 1) Accomodations at university residence in Idanha-A-Nova, single (when available) and double rooms.
  • 2) The courses take place in various locations in the historical village of Idanha-A-Velha, lunch and dinner are served on site.
  • 3) Transport Castelo Branco -> Idanha-A-Nova on August 30 and Idanha-A-Nova -> Castelo Branco on September 6 can be arranjed.
  • 4) The organization ensure the connection transport between Idanha-A-Nova and Idanha-A-Velha.

 

5. PAYMENT AND GENERAL REMARKS

 

  • 1) Payment of registration by bank transfer or Multibanco. Detailed information will be provided after submitting the application form.
  • 2) Registration fee is non-refundable after July 1st. Before this date is refundable 50%.
  • 3) Payment confirmation must be sent to cima.portugal@gmail.com


6. REGISTRATION DEADLINES
 

  • Regular: until July 31st.
  • Extra: after July 31st with penalty of €5 per extra day.
